IDS Imaging Development Systems is a leading manufacturer of digital industrial cameras with USB or GigE interface as well as 3D cameras with a wide range of sensors and variants.
With the highly flexible, intelligent IDS NXT industrial cameras for deep learning-based tasks and adaptive robot vision solutions, the company is opening up new dimensions in image processing. To find out more about what is possible with IDS cameras, please have a look at the case studies and technical articles in the IDS Knowledge Base. For all those who prefer videos, the IDS Vision Channel offers a rich pool of tutorials and product knowledge at https://en.ids-imaging.com/visionchannel.html www.ids-vision-channel.tech.
IDS was founded in 1997 and is an owner-managed, independent family business with more than 350 employees. The headquarters are in Obersulm, Germany, with additional branches and representative offices in Europe, the USA and Asia. IDS cameras offer an almost unlimited range of applications and are used in mechanical and plant engineering as well as in the automotive, packaging and printing industries as well as in the food sector. The combination of quality “Made in Germany”, long-term availability and exceptional ease of use makes the products unique.
uEye: versatile, powerful and easy to handle industrial cameras
uEye stands for high-performance, easy-to-use USB and GigE industrial cameras with a wide range of sensors and variants. The combination of quality “Made in Germany”, long-term availability and outstanding user-friendliness makes the products unique. Users can choose between the camera families uEye FA (protection class IP65/67), uEye CP (only 29x29x29 mm), uEye SE (especially versatile), uEye LE series (space-saving project camera), uEye XLE (cost-optimised and rich in variants) as well as uEye XCP (extremely small with housing and C-mount). Additionally, there are models with autofocus and individually configurable board-level cameras – the IDS camera portfolio leaves nothing to be desired.
IDS NXT: image analysis with AI – no previous knowledge required
Artificial intelligence that runs directly on cameras – the embedded vision AI package IDS NXT makes the technology available to everyone. Users do not need any specialist knowledge of deep learning, image processing or camera programming to train and execute a neural network. Thanks to OPC UA, IDS NXT cameras can also be integrated directly into factory automation without writing a single line of code. This made IDS the first company to offer an inference camera with native support for the OPC UA protocol – a milestone in the convergence of image processing and PLC. As a result, IDS NXT cameras can communicate with machines and controllers in the same language and exchange tasks and results directly.
The IDS NXT camera platform is continuously being further developed. Free software updates enhance the system’s AI capabilities, improve ease of use and make the AI’s processes and decisions transparent. Vision Apps and the “IDS NXT Vision App Creator” SDK give users and developers enormous creative freedom to design new applications.
Ensenso Cameras: for 3D and Robot Vision
3D camera technology enables robots to analyse their environment in order to react independently to different circumstances: Perceiving the environment with 3D camera data enables innovative applications that could previously only be done by humans. Therefore, 3D Vision plays an important role in process automation. The Ensenso 3D cameras from IDS excel through precision, speed and cost-effectiveness. Available in different versions for a wide range of applications – fully integrated in a compact housing, modular with variable baseline or with integrated data processing. As a result, the Ensenso 3D cameras satisfy many different requirements. The Ensenso selector on the IDS website helps to find the right model for your application.
